Dettori Giuliana

Giuliana Dettori ha conseguito la laurea in Matematica presso l'Università di Genova nel 1978. Da allora, ha sempre svolto ricerca per il CNR, prima presso l'Istituto per la Matematica Applicata, poi presso l'Istituto per le Tecnologie Didattiche, fino al pensionamento il 1° giugno 2020. Dopo una iniziale attività su argomenti di matematica applicata,  i suoi interessi si sono concentrati su diversi argomenti di Tecnologie Didattiche, che costituiscono il suo principale settore di ricerca.

Nel corso della sua attività professionale, ha trascorso due anni presso la Syracuse University (NY, USA), dove ha lavorato nel campo dei linguaggi di programmazione dichiarativi, e cinque mesi  presso la Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo (Ecuador), dove ha tenuti corsi di Informatica, sia per gli studenti della Scuola di dottorato in Matematica, sia per gli insegnanti dell'Università.

È stata responsabile per il suo istituto in diversi progetti di ricerca della Comunità Europea: Waterman (FP IV), Telepeers (FP VI), Efelcren (FP VI), e, nell’ambito della rete di eccellenza KALEIDOSCOPE (FP VI), ha coordinato lo Special Interest group "Narratives in Learning Environments" e ha partecipato al progetto "Interaction between learner's internal and external representation in multimedia environments".

La sua attività in campo educativo ha riguardato in particolare:

  • La mediazione di artefatti culturali nei processi di apprendimento e insegnamento, in particolare, quella di diversi tipi di rappresentazione, delle attività narrative e dell’uso di strumenti tecnologici nello svolgimento di attività cognitive e collaborative.
  • La pratica e lo sviluppo di autoregolazione nell'apprendimento, con particolare riferimento al possibile supporto fornito da diversi tipi di attività, sia individuali che collaborative, nonchè dagli ambienti di apprendimento, con particolare riguardo a quelli arricchiti da artefatti culturali e tecnologici.
  • L'integrazione delle TIC (tecnologie dell’informazione e della comunicazione) nelle attività di apprendimento e il loro contributo allo sviluppo di dinamiche cognitive e sociali, in relazione sia alla revisione della pratica didattica sia alla formazione degli insegnanti.

I principali risultati conseguiti (in collaborazione con vari ricercatori) includono:

  • due approcci innovativi allo studio dell’autoregolazione dell’apprendimento in ambienti a forte componente tecnologica, con particolare attenzione alle dinamiche cognitive e sociali nell'apprendimento in rete;
  • un modello per innovare la formazione degli insegnanti basato sulla condivisione di materiali didattici e riflessione comune sulle diverse esperienza d'uso, atto a favorire lo sviluppo di una cognizione condivisa nelle comunità di pratica che lo applicano;
  • un modello per analizzare e classificare gli ambienti di apprendimento narrativi, ambienti, cioè, che utilizzano storie e narrazioni relative all’oggetto di studio per agevolare l’apprendimento sia dal punto di vista cognitivo sia da quello motivazionale;
  • approfondite analisi e riflessioni su diversi problemi in campo educativo e su aspetti dell’utilizzo delle TIC e delle attività narrative a supporto dell’insegnamento e apprendimento;
  • All’inizio della sua attività di ricerca si è occupata dia argomenti di matematica applicata, sviluppando diversi algoritmi per la modellazione di linee e superfici con particolari caratteristiche morfologiche, per l’approssimazione poligonale di linee, e per la rappresentazione digitale di terreni mediante un modello multi-risoluzione.

Oltre alla produzione scientifica, che include circa 300 contributi di tipo diverso, ha curato il trasferimento di conoscenza sia mediante la disseminazione dei risultati progettuali, sia attraverso la sua attività di insegnamento che comprende esperienze di docenza presso università italiane e straniere, corsi di formazione, seminari, supervisione della formazione di giovani e di tesi di dottorato.
