Project description

MEDcGAME has been carried out in the context of the wider project Mediterranean Myths and Sea (MEDMYSEA), within the European action INTERREG. MEDMYSEA is a project funded from the European Commission (UE) through the European Regional Development Funds, within the initiative Archimed, to stimulate the interregional cooperation between Italy and Greece in the period 2000-06.
MMS is aimed at promoting sustainable development of tourism through the valorisation of cultural identity and of the incomparabile local resources of the Mediterranean area, the birthplace of the European civilization and the depositary of a biological patrimony unique in our planet.
In order to actively involve young people in the discovery and valorisation of their own territory and to promote the exchange among Mediterranean cultures, the collaborative game MEDcGame has been created.

Final results

ITD has designed and experimented MEDcGame, a collaborative game based on an innovative methodology (TwinninQuest). This game involves two classes at the same scholastic level situated in two different geographical areas.
At its first edition, 4 italian and 4 greek schools twinned among themselves have participated. Teachers have been involved as well in the implementation of the game, preceded by a training phase (MEDcCourse), during which they have learnt the methodology and designed the experience.
