AIED 2025 will be the 26th edition and celebrates the quarter of century advancing science and engineering of intelligent human-technology ecosystems that support learning.

CNR-ITD Director Francesca Pozzi will take part in the AIED 2025 Conference as an invited speaker, with a talk titled Beyond the Algorithm: Participatory approaches to the use of AI to support inclusive and ethical education". Her presentation explores how artificial intelligence can be integrated into education to foster equity and critical thinking. AI is neither inherently good nor bad - its impact depends on how it is used. The talk advocates for a constructivist and participatory approach, where AI serves as a stimulus for dialogue rather than a substitute for human thought. In this way, AI can support both students and teachers in developing cognitive skills and ethical awareness. Achieving this vision, however, requires a profound reform of educational systems. Excluding AI from schools would only widen the gap between education and the real world.
