This research line concerns the adoption of digital technologies and related solutions to further the educational inclusion of all people, especially those who (as defined by UNESCO) experience disadvantage of some kind in their learning and as such have Special Education Needs related to disability, learning difficulties, socio-economic disadvantage, linguistic / cultural diversity, etc. This is a longstanding and high-level research line at ITD and a fundamental principle guiding all the institute's work, with the result that ITD is recognised as a reference point in this field. Over the years, ITD has led important e-inclusion initiatives and projects at all levels: local, regional, national and European.
