ALT-ER 2.0 stems from a previous Erasmus+ project that aimed to foster resilience in learners, lessen early school leaving, and give European children (ages 4 -6) a good start in their education. The project uses ICT to promote creativity and self-directed storytelling, offering a platform with a collection of activities ranging from making meaning by decoding the scenes presented, to allowing participants to tell stories by creating them. The framework and selection of tools are built both for both the home and the classroom use, be it in person or online. This allows creating a shared classroom space, ensuring the best possible outcomes for education in this time characterized by the effects of the Coronavirus outbreak.

The project involves 5 higher education and research institutions and an SME that work in fields related to game based learning, pedagogy, and animation as a tool for learning and self-expression. The project covers the countries of Denmark, the Netherlands, Finland, Italy, and Belgium.
