GenAI4Schools

GenAI4Schools is a three-year project founded by ERASMUS-EDU-2025-PI-FORWARD (FORWARD-LOOKING PROJECTS) Topic: ERASMUS-EDU-2025-PI-FORWARD-DIGITAL led by a consortium of ministries, universities, research centres, and private sector, bringing together France, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Slovenia and Spain. It aims to model effective and ethical human-AI (HAI) interactions and uses of GenAI to empower secondary schools in the systemic adaptation to GenAI technologies while enhancing human-centred teaching and learning.

To meet this need, GenAI4Schools investigates effective GenAI practices in secondary schools (pupils aged 13+). We will map how teachers are integrating GenAI into their subjects and examining the ways in which both teachers and pupils interact with it, to identify the enabling or blocking factors for its effective use in education. Then, we will draft HAI interaction models, provide theoretical material and develop a GenAI playbook with practical use cases and implementation support. The practices and models will be tested in a safe and controlled environment in the seven countries and evaluated by participants.
