Procopius research work concerned strategies and methodologies for online teacher training which implied collaborative online experiences.
The proposed training module for teachers of Italian language schools in Alto Adige, a bilingual area of the Trentino Alto Adige Region consists in a two-year programme of activities:
- First year - Distance training of teachers on design and delivery methodologies of learning modules based on online collaboration;
- Second year - Implementation (assisted at a distance) of online learning experiences designed in the first year of the project.
The key concept of Procopius concerns the contextual theoretical-methodological and familiarization online activities and the classroom experimentation of knowledge acquired by teachers
Outcomes
The major ones are the following:
- design and implementation of a blended approach for in-service teacher training based on the learning-on-the-job principle;
- development of a specific learning programme on online collaborative education centred on the above approach and focusing on research-action activities that involved both student-teachers and their classes.
