Purpose
Financial and organizational aspects are key elements for e-learning sustainability. However, in order to guarantee high qualitative standards such elements should not be put before educational and pedagogical issues. Should this happen the choice of the pedagogical approach would be strongly affected and eventually addressed towards individual study-based e-learning, often of the passive type, of material, thus depriving the process of the key social dimension.
This aspect is particularly important in university education where the need for a direct interaction between student and teachers is felt and where there is a whole series of possible strategies – interactive ones in the first place, to be used by the latter to foster students learning.
In this context Xanadu2 aims at contributing to the study of educational and formative sustainability conditions of university e-learning by designing strategies based on Networked Collaborative Learning-NCL and by training faculty members to use NCL.
Aims
Devising and implementing approaches to learning design, delivery and evluation of NCL in university teaching.
