Project description and objectives

ITAVER5O is a project co-financed by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) through a public announcement dated March 17, 2023, for the selection of project proposals for experimentation and applied research: “5G Technologies. Projects for experimentation and research”. In this context, ITAVER5O aims to design, develop, validate, and disseminate a video-consumption model based on immersive Meta interactive environments, integrated with Machine Learning algorithms and predictive analysis models, fueled by cohorts of synthetic students, enabled by 5G technology, and tailored to the educational use case as an advanced tool for curricular and behavioral profiling.

Project objectives

  • O1. Validate an advanced educational model based on Meta technology and environments, enabled by 5G, and aimed at immersive interaction of learners with custom-designed content.
  • O2. Validate and disseminate a Machine Learning algorithmic model for behavioral/curricular profiling based on predictive analysis.
  • O3. Detect the enabling impact and specifications of 5G on the developed content.

Expected project results

Expected results:

  • Immersive gamified experience in META environment.
  • Research paper in the field of Educational Technology.
  • Report on QoS increase induced by deployment in 5G architecture.
  • Technical-scientific paper on the next-generation 5G and 6G networks.

ITAVER5O’s approach is based on three methodological pillars that will guide the project.

  1. Preparation. Methodological research of models and metrics for behavioral and curricular profiling (WP2); Data Collection & Synthetic Data Generation for model feeding (WP3).
  2. Design and development. Predictive model design and development (WP4); ITAVER5O experience design (WP5); Development of 3D environments (WP6); Design and development of portals (WP7).
  3. Testing and release. Deployment in 5G/Cloud architecture (WP8); Alpha-Testing, Fine Tuning, Debug in 5G (WP9); ITAVER5O release, data analysis, and reporting (WP10).
