TIC@school is a project aimed at defining a set of tools and strategies to start up a local school network on Technology at School, and the Don Milani school will be the main node of the network.
Objectives
Objectives of the project are the design and implementation of an innovative technology-based model that should allow teachers and students to use ICT in the classroom, going beyond the traditional logic of the computer laboratory. Moreover, the project will work on the functions of an online platform to build a network of schools that share topics of interest, through the orchestration of tools and facilities to communicate, collaborate and share documents and products from the various schools.
Workplan
1) Design of a model to extend the access and the use of ICT in the classroom, through the study of requirements (needs, pedagogical models, constraints, etc.) and definition of the characteristics of resources to be acquired.
2) Consultancy and assistance in the writing, analisys and choice of preempts (hardware, plant design, etc.); installation and first use of the technological resources acquired; definition of instruments for network security (firewall, filters, antivirus software, etc.).
3) Design and conduction of training sessions addressed to school teachers in order to facilitate the use of new resources in the classroom, both from a pedagogical and a technological point of view.
4) Consultancy and assistance in the conduction of experimental projects addressed to students, and based on the use of new technological resourses in the learning process.
5) Analysis and realization of an initial start-up of a territorial network of schools and related adaptation of the telematics instruments already at disposal (LabTD and Don Milani) to enhance comunication, sharing of documentation nad collaboration among the groups of teachers from the schools involved.
Expected results
1) Realization and implementation of a model of technology innovation to allow the use of ICT resources by students and teachers to in the classroom.
2) Improvement of the online communication environment used by the Don Milani teachers.
3) Improvement of the LabTD virtual platform, making available environments dedicated to groups of interest coming from different schools that will work at a distance.
